TWILIGHT

My 2 sisters and I are huge fans of the Twilight books so we decided to have a girls night and attend the Twilight premier party at the megaplex theaters. We had the time of our lives. It was great to share this together, we danced the night away and later saw the first showing of the movie. It was soo fun to be in a theater packed with only women...crazy women!!!
I cant wait to repeat something like this for the sequel.

3 years later...

Our 3rd year anniversary just came and went Oct. 14. We couldn't celebrate much on that day because it was the middle of the week and we were both loaded with school work, but we had a fun little getaway to Park City this weekend that more than made up for it. It was lots of fun even though it is the off season for Park City. the hotel we stayed in featured an outside heated pool which Mike thoroughly enjoyed as i slaved away in their gym. We walked and shopped the downtown Main Street which i must say is filled with the cutest boutiques and art galleries I've seen. I fell in love with that shopping strip. the restaurants were all delicious but twice as much as we are use to paying down here. our favorite thing we did though was the zip line and tour we took in the winter Olympic sports park. I must say this getaway was much more fun than the Las Vegas trip we took 2 years ago. VIVA PARK CITY!!!

the aspen trees were breath taking so
I forced Mike to strike a pose!!

BEAUtiful Main Street

the infamous "xtreme zip line".

Oh...did i mention it snowed
and Mike went skiing!!! ha ha

Hiking in Utah

So mike and i have been on a few hikes this summer. we hiked the "Y" once with Mike's sis Aubrey, her husband Blake and their pup Mabel (Bailey's sis). i must say hiking the Y was a killer(I had forgotten how difficult and steep it is all the way up). I think thats why there are only 2 pics to show for it, we were too tired to think of taking photos.
We also hiked Provo Canyon a couple of times, which is much better on your legs than the Y because it's mostly flat, the down fall to this particular hike is that you can get carried away and walk a long distance before you realize you should have turned around a long time ago. The end to this hike is impossible to reach, in my opinion. we walked more that 5 miles up and from what Mike tells me, we had quite a bit longer to reach the end. Despite the aches we got from walking 10 MILES on a HOT summer day, it was very fun mostly because Bailey never stopped making us laugh and smile! :)

Here are few pictures of our summer hiking days.

THE Y

we encountered a baby rattle snake on our
way up to the Y. pretty scary given that both
Bailey and her sis Mabel are very curious
pups. it rattled when we passes it. I hope you
can see it, its pretty camouflaged.

the view from the top of the Y was spectacular
and made the hard work up worthwhile, so i
think now, had you asked me the day of the
hike i would have said otherwise...haha

PROVO CANYON

This was funny! Mike was practically
forcing poor Bailey, who was freaked,
into the pond at the bottom of the
waterfall. She was holding on to dear
life trying not to go any further.

Finally Mike just grabbed her and
put her in the deeper end but she
refused to go on her four legs. She
was basically standing the whole
time with Mikes help of course and,
yes, her ears were back the entire
time! Can I say sad but...funny! hehe!

Thank goodness dogs mostly have
short term memories, for both Mike's
and Bailey's sake.

Mike brought lots of snacks to
keep him "hydrated and energized".

Most of our hike at Provo Canyon
went like this: Mike going one way
while Bailey chose the opposite
way.

Tour of Utah

The 5 day cycling event, the Tour of Utah, was held this week. Patty and I made it to 1 of the races. It was a time trial, so 1 rider leaves the starting gate every minute. the best part about going to a time trial race is that you can get close to some of your favorite professional riders. there were many famous racers but i really wanted to see tyler hamilton who rides for Rock Racing (for those of you that know designer jeans, the designer of Rock N Republic jeans owns and manages this team). tyler hamilton is most famous for winning gold in the 2004 olympics in, you guessed it, cycling. after his time trial was over i was able to ask him to sign one of my cycling jerseys. here's a few pics.

Rock Racing is sponsored by cadillac. they definately have the coolest team cars at any race.

this is olympic gold medalist, tyler hamilton

Bailey's 1st Birthday

remember, we don't have any kids. . . .

For Bailey's 1st birthday, my sister aubrey and her husband blake threw a birthday party for both her and her sister (mabel) at their apt. she baked a cake made especially for dogs (which included baby food and ground veal - yuck, but they loved it.) blake even tried a piece and commented that it was very. . .flavorful. they invited a cute little pug named buddha that lives next door. it was probably the best birthday any dog could hope for.
